Cheshire Livelihood Resource Centres

Locations - Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Serampore, Mumbai, Lucknow, Dehradun, Nagapattinum, Prakasam.

In the field of Livelihood Training we have 9 Livelihood Resource Centres across India with outreach programs which are training and facilitating employment for over 1500 people with disability a year. The core program of the CLRCs for PWDs covers Assessment, Training, Placement (both wage and self employment), and Career Guidance. It also focuses on Advocacy with the Government, NGOs, Industry Associations, media and runs sensitizing and communication workshops.

The core program consists of:

• A Gateway of Information to any information seeker including disabled people, employers and others from community, related to livelihood, rights and facilities for persons with disability by information material, demonstration, consultation etc.
• Career guidance
• Market led vocational training by skilled trainers
• Placements and self employment
• Conduct Sensitization workshops for the Corporate to help them understand the disability issues, equal rights for the disabled, helping in achieving CSR targets.
• Experiment and use various Assistive Technologies for the disabled, which can help them to get employment and perform their job better.
• Conduct sign language classes in our premises for the corporate, trainers etc which could help them communicate with speech and hearing impaired.
• Work place solutions and technology solutions for better accessibility and reasonable accommodation for people with disabilities
