Access to health care

Locations - Mumbai, Mangalore, Prakasam AP, Trivandrum

The health interventions include identifying CWDs/PWDs through door to door visits, screening camps and referrals. The interventions include assessment, therapeutic interventions (physiotherapy, occupational and speech therapy) provision of aids and appliances, part-financial support/facilitation of corrective surgeries, procedures and medicines. Awareness creation and sensitization of the community about disability, health workers, sensitizing mainstream school teachers and Anganwadi (Government Pre-school) teachers, who are an integral part of health intervention project. The community based model of interventions include setting up of community outreach centres or Disability Resource Centre (DRC), as a strategy in response to challenges, economic and financial access disability relevant specialist services like therapeutic interventions.
